RAM has evolved considerably over the past forty years, with changes such as a newly custom built factory in China and continually creating innovative product ranges that keep the Company constantly ahead of the competition when it comes to customer service and product quality. Its recent developments include all-electric separating twinlift spreaders, innovative designs of telescopic spreaders for mobile harbour cranes, PinSmart® twistlock handling machines and SingFlex Twin40 Headblocks for STS cranes. These new products complements its RAM range of telescopic, fixed and separating twinlift spreaders, offering the finest choice for Ship-to-Shore Cranes, RTGs/RMGs, Mobile Harbour Cranes and Fork Lifts.
RAM’s China plant, ChangShu RAM Engineering Co. Ltd, was constructed in 2005 and the First Phase expansion of its facility was completed in 2006. With an increasing global demand for its products, two more Phases of its facility was completed subsequently in 2008 and then 2011.
Now, ChangShu RAM Engineering Co. Ltd has a total area of 28,800 m2 making it the largest company in the Free Trade Development Zone in Changshu. Since opening, the Company has delivered over 2000 spreaders.
RAM Spreaders was established in 1972 in UK by its founder, Robert Mills. Mr Mills began building spreaders in his privately owned company in Liverpool England. As one of the early pioneers in container handling and the founder of RAM Spreaders, Mr Mills continues to play a pivotal role in the business, as Executive Director of RAM’s UK Office and as a driving force in the company’s product development programme.
