RAM Spreaders' success in Russia

Continued enthusiasm for the RAM All electric spreader series has resulted in additional orders for fourteen RAM Model 3510 all electric spreaders from OAO Baltkran for installation on their RMG's operating in rail and other terminals throughout Russia.

This order follows the delivery to Baltkran last year of five RAM Spreaders, two with slewing ring for 360 degree rotation.

OAO Baltkran located in Kaliningrad is a highly developed specialised crane builder involved in the engineering and fabrication of complex handling systems destined for operation in the Arctic, Siberia and Polar regions at extreme low temperatures down to -45C

Built between 1890 and 1905 to connect Moscow with Vladivostok on Russia's Pacific coast 6,560 miles (10,555km) away, the Trans-Siberian is probably one of the most famous and romantic railway lines in world.

Russian Railways intends to increase the volume of container traffic on the Trans-Siberian still further by 2-2.5 times and is developing a fleet of specialised cars and increasing terminal capacity at the ports by a factor of 3 to 4!!
